PCG Nashville (The Science Of Artist Development) is pleased to announce its 2011 PCG Nashville “Artist Of The Year: emerging country music artist, Samantha Landrum. The PCG Nashville “Artist Of The Year” award is presented in recognition of extraordinary showmanship, dedication, outstanding progress and achievement; Miss Landrum is the first to receive the annual award.

Hailing from Laurel, Mississippi, Landrum joined PCG Nashville’s artist roster as a talented and determined teenager. She quickly excelled in the customized development program and has since been featured on two nationally released compilation albums among other achievements.

Samantha Landrum celebrated her vocal appearance with the release ofTeddy Gentry’s BEST NEW NASHVILLE compilation album (an exclusive offering from Cracker Barrel Old Country Store®, produced by Gentry of the country music super group Alabama) in May 2011.

At the close of 2011, Landrum was honored to participate in the acclaimed album project LET US IN—NASHVILLE (A Tribute to Linda McCartney) benefiting The Women and Cancer Fund in memory of Linda McCartney.

Released by Reviver Records and produced by Dennis D’AmicoLET US IN—NASHVILLEfeatures 16 McCartney/Wings’ masterpieces (as written by Sir Paul McCartney) and boasts performances by Tommy Emmanuel, SHeDAISY, Steel Magnolia, Phil Vassar and Chuck Wicks. The youngest artist on the collection of fan favorites, Landrum’s recording of “Pipes Of Piece” is highlighted among the stellar line-up of award-winning recording artists and songwriters. She made her debut appearance at the historic Ryman Auditorium as part of the album launch celebration. (November 2011)

Kicking off 2012, Samantha accepted the personal invitation to perform at the Governor’s Inaugural Ball held in her home state at the Jackson Convention Center in Jackson, MS for the newly elected governor of Mississippi, Phil Bryant. Landrum won the hearts of all in attendance with her infectious smile, humble spirit and moving performance of her original music and the “by-request” rendition of Bette Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings” as Gov. Bryant danced with Mississippi’s first lady, Deborah Bryant.

Landrum is currently in the studio with producer Dennis D’Amico recording her debut EP, which will include Landrum originals as well as material penned by some of Nashville’s notable song crafters.
